Malcolm Smith

Inspired by 60s romance comics, Smith favors bright, primary colors and Ben Gay dot process for his work. The simplicity of focusing on a female face and hands, paired with classic movie quotes makes his bold art a clever expression of emotion and humor. 

Malcolm was always deeply interested in art, but his father encouraged him to pursue a professional career in architecture. During his decades as an architect, he continued his passion with painting and eventually returned to the art world full time. He applies the same fastidiousness and precision required as an architect to creating each piece. His original paintings usually involve 50 - 70 different layers in each work and have the ultimate goal of bringing bold, witty works to his clients.
